ABOUT MARIYA VELYCHKO
Mariya Velychko is a contemporary artist from Nice, on the French Riviera. She is a participant and winner of diverse national and international art competitions, art fairs and exhibitions.
Her works combine ancestral and contemporary techniques with the modernity of pure lines and natural elements, magnified by the shifting luminosity of gold.
She fell in love with the working of gold many years ago. Its warm color, a symbol of refinement and elegance, is now at the core of her creations, inspired by women, nature, animals, or the south of France.
She is also passionate about working with the natural elements, transforming them into finely chiselled metal sculptures, gorgeously accentuating all features of these compositions.
Her style: pure lines, specific techniques, and meticulous know-how. The shifting luminosity of gold and minimalist representations are at the heart of her artworks, full of lightness and great finesse.
Light is the key element in her work, it constantly interacts with the textures and shapes creating the singularity of her artworks.
